A United Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration N787UA performing flight UA-844 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was climbing out of Sao Paulo when the crew stopped the climb at about FL210 reporting the failure of an engine (PW4090), shut the engine down, dumped fuel at FL080 and returned to Sao Paulo for a safe landing on runway about one hour after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Sao Paulo 16 hours after landing back.
