A passenger reported the crew announced they had lost the nose wheel steering and were unable to vacate the runway. The aircraft was towed off the runway about 90 minutes later, the passengers finally got off the aircraft about 3 hours after landing.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Shanghai about 41 hours after landing.
Emirates reported the return flight EK-303 was postponed to depart as flight EK-8303 on Jan 6th due to maintenance reasons.
