A Qantas Airbus A380-800, registration VH-OQD performing flight QF-7 from Sydney,NS (Australia) to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA), was enroute at FL340 over the Pacific Ocean about 2 hours into the flight when the crew decided to return to Sydney after a number of toilets failed to operate and problems with the power supply to the inflight entertainment system occurred. The aircraft landed safely back in Sydney about 4 hours after departure.

The airline confirmed a number of toilets ceased working and cabin power supply problems affecting seat and inflight entertainment functions. The aircraft could have continued to Dallas, but in the interest of passenger comfort the decision to return to Sydney was taken.

The aircraft had been involved in a "rain in cabin" event earlier the year, see Incident: Qantas A388 near Los Angeles on Jul 2nd 2014, rain in cabin.
