The airline reported the aircraft encountered sudden turbulence as it touched down at Mumbai Airport. 8 passengers and 14 crew received injuries.
The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight with a delay of one hour but remained on the ground in Singapore since, now about 19 hours.
On Oct 28th 2014 the French BEA reported in their weekly bulletin that the aircraft was on approach to Mumbai maintaining FL150 deviating around isolated weather, that had been forecast. After having deviated 10nm left and upwind of weather the aircraft experienced light to moderate clear air turbulence for about 3-4 seconds with no radar returns visible, the flight crew immediately instructed cabin crew to take their seats repeating the announcement, immediately after the second announcement a sudden severe jolt due to severe turbulence was encountered that lasted for about 1-2 seconds. One occupant received serious injuries, 21 others minor injuries. Singapore's Accident Investigation Board is investigating the occurrence rated an accident.
