A China Eastern Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration B-8232 performing flight MU-723 from Shanghai Pudong to Hong Kong (China), was ready for departure from runway 16R and was cleared for takeoff when tower spotted the Boeing 767 cross the hold short line and instructed the A321 to hold position.
The A321 departed a short time later after the Delta had crossed the runway.
China's CAA East Department reported the DL295 crossed the runway not in compliance with ATC instructions. Tower issued a hold position instruction to MU-723, who were just about to commence takeoff, just in time. The occurrence is being investigated.
