A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N129DL performing flight DL-419 from Atlanta,GA (USA) to San Juan (Puerto Rico) with 261 passengers and 7 crew, was enroute at FL350 near San Juan, when the airplane encountered moderate turbulence. Two people on board received injuries. The airplane continued to San Juan for a safe landing about 20 minutes later.

The NTSB reported on Jun 5th 2009, that one flight attendant received a broken femur, two other flight attendants and two passengers received minor injuries. The fasten seat belt sign was illuminated at the time of the turbulence, which lasted 20 seconds.

On Aug 25th 2016 the NTSB released their brief final report concluding the probable cause of the accident was:

Inadvertent encounter with convective turbulence while in cruise.
