Both left main tyres had been replaced just prior to departure and the left main gear pin had been forgotten. The gear pin was removed and the aircraft was refuelled for departure.
However, the flight was subsequently cancelled.
Information running within the airline suggests that the captain remained "blissfully unaware" of the fact, that the left main gear had not retracted upon selecting the gear up despite the gear disagree indications. As result the flight crew was removed from duty and the flight was cancelled. The passengers were rebooked onto the next flights.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 24 hours and resumed service as next day's flight UA-899.
