An Air Serbia Airbus A319-100, registration YU-APD performing flight JU-801 from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) to Belgrade (Serbia) with 73 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL380 over the Mediterranean Sea about 160nm west of Larnaca (Cyprus) when the crew reported a burning odour in the cabin and decided to turn around and divert to Larnaca, where the aircraft landed safely about 35 minutes later. Attending emergency services found no trace of fire, smoke or heat.

The aircraft was examined, maintenance released the aircraft to continue the flight, the aircraft departed about 2:45 hours after landing and reached Belgrade with a total delay of 5 hours.
