A Delta Airlines Boeing 737-900, registration N802DN performing flight DL-1156 from Portland,OR to Atlanta,GA (USA), was nearing Atlanta.
At that time a tweet was received by Delta Airlines indicating that a bomb had been smuggled on board of their aircraft, the poster of that tweet however had forgotten which flight it was asking for help to identify the aircraft. The following exchange of tweets resulted in further threats against other aircraft in case of action against the poster of the tweets.
The FBI rated the threat serious, fighter aircraft were dispatched to accompany both aircraft to safe landings in Atlanta. The aircraft taxied to a remote area of the airport.
A search of aircraft, passengers and luggage did not find any traces of explosives.
Southwest airlines confirmed one of their aircraft was involved in a "security situation".
