The airline stressed the cargo did not get damaged, the crew decided to exercise extra precaution due to the value of the cargo and did not continue to Kazakhstan although the aircraft could have carried on on three engines, the airline pointed out the excellent two engines out performance of the aircraft.
Volga's Investigative Department reported the aircraft diverted to Ulyanovsk due to a problem with one of the engines according to preliminary data, the department is investigating the occurrence.
The previous day the aircraft had carried the satellite from Toulouse (France) to Moscow Sheremetyevo.
