A Vision Airlines Boeing 767-200 on behalf of Travelspan, registration N769VA performing flight V2-501 from New York JFK,NY (USA) to Georgetown (Guyana) with 210 people on board, was climbing out of New York when the crew stopped the climb at FL250 reporting a compressor stall in one of the "motors" (JT9D). A few minutes later the crew declared emergency reporting they had a compressor stall in the #1 engine (left hand) and decided to return to New York's John F. Kennedy Airport. The aircraft landed safely about one hour after departure.

The airline reported the aircraft developed compression problems with one of the engines (JT9D).

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration N661CS resumed the flight the following day and reached Georgetown with a delay of 23.5 hours.
