A Yemenia Airbus A310-300, registration 7O-ADW performing flight IY-509 (scheduled dep Jun 23rd, actual dep Jun 24th) from Aden to Sanaa (Yemen) with 197 passengers and 10 crew, skidded while landing in Sanaa at around 03:05L (00:05Z) and burst a number of right hand main tyres, the aircraft came to a stop about 14 meters off the runway and was disabled. No injuries occurred, the aircraft received minor damage.

The airport was closed for 6 hours until the aircraft was moved off the runway.

The incident flight originated in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) but had diverted to Aden due to weather in Sanaa.

The French BEA reported on Jul 16th in their weekly bulletin, that the aircraft landed on runway 36 at 00:05Z, the crew was not able to stop the aircraft in time, the aircraft came to a stop about 14 meters off the runway.
