An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N880NN performing flight AA-458 (dep Mar 13th) from Miami,FL to Minneapolis,MN (USA), was on short final to Minneapolis' runway 12L when a bird impacted the aircraft. The aircraft continued for the landing on runway 12L but became disabled on the runway, the crew reported they had no nose wheel steering anymore. The aircraft was towed to the gate.

The aircraft received damage to its nose gear including leakage of fluids, which needed to be cleaned off the runway, which was closed for a number of hours as result.
