A Kalitta Boeing 747-400 freighter, registration N700CK performing flight K4-703 (dep Sep 29th) from Seoul (South Korea) to Anchorage,AK (USA), was on approach to Anchorage maintaining 4000 feet when the crew reported a hydraulic failure. The aircraft performed an alternate gear extension and landed safely on Anchorage's runway 07R with open gear doors about 20 minutes after levelling off at 4000 feet. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 5.5 hours, then continued the flight with its next sector to New York JFK,NY (USA).
