An Aeromexico Boeing 787-9, registration N438AM performing flight AM-34 from Monterrey (Mexico) to Madrid,SP (Spain), was enroute at FL330 over Ohio (USA) about 1400nm northeast of Mexico City (Mexico), when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Mexico City reporting an air conditioning problem. The aircraft initially maintained FL330, about 40 minutes after turning around the crew descended the aircraft to FL300 for the remainder of the cruise flight and landed safely on Mexico City's runway 23L about 3:15 hours after turning around.

Passengers reported there was an issue with the air conditioning.

The airline confirmed an issue with the air conditioning.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Mexico City about 17 hours after landing.
