A Delta Airlines Boeing 747-400, registration N663US performing flight DL-295 from Atlanta,GA (USA) to Tokyo Narita (Japan) with 396 people on board, was enroute at FL320 about 660nm northnortheast of Anchorage,AK (USA) when the crew decided to declare emergency and divert to Anchorage reporting the aircraft was experiencing a lot of vibrations. The crew wasn't sure whether a panel was missing, some board or other fuselage problem were causing the vibrations. The airport closed runway 07R for snow removal and sanding of the runway in preparation for the emergency arrival. The aircraft dumped fuel on the way to Anchorage and landed safely on Anchorage's runway 07R about 110 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 747-400 registration N669US was dispatched from Detroit,MI (USA) to Anchorage, resumed the flight as DL-9925 and reached Tokyo with a delay of 20 hours.
