A TAP Air Portugal Embraer ERJ-195, registration CS-TTY performing flight TP-827 from Milan Malpensa (Italy) to Lisbon (Portugal), had departed Malpensa's runway 35R, climbed to FL370 enroute and was descending towards Lisbon, when the aircraft turned to divert to Porto (Portugal). The aircraft landed safely on Porto's runway 17 about 35 minutes after turning off the descent to Lisbon.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Porto for about 2:40 hours, then continued the flight and landed safely in Lisbon with a delay of about 4 hours.

The airline reported the aircraft diverted as a precaution over a possible technical issue, which was not confirmed after landing.

According to information The Aviation Herald the crew suspected a tyre had burst on departure from Milan, it was deemed more prudent to divert to Porto rather than land in Lisbon.
