A Gol Transportes Aereos Boeing 737-700, registration PR-GEH performing flight G3-2090 from Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont,RJ to Salvador,BA (Brazil) with 114 passengers and 5 crew, had climbed to FL290 out of Rio de Janeiro when the crew noticed the engines (CFM56) delivered asymmatric thrust. After working the checklists the crew decided to turn around and divert to Rio de Janeiro's Galeao Airport for a safe landing about 50 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 24 hours, then returned to service.
