An Air France Airbus A319-100, registration F-GRHE performing flight AF-7538 from Paris Orly to Montpellier (France), was in the initial climb out of Orly's runway 24 when the crew requested to level off and return reporting a bird strike, they had strong noise at the left hand engine (CFM56). The aircraft returned to Orly for a safe landing on runway 25 about 8 minutes after departure.

A replacement A319-100 registration F-GRHJ reached Montpellier with a delay of 2 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Paris about 33 hours after landing back.
