A Delta Airlines Airbus 319-100, registration N319NB performing flight DL-2089 from Minneapolis,MN to Santa Ana,CA (USA) with 138 people on board, was enroute at FL300 about 15nm south of Sioux Falls,SD when the crew detected hydraulic problems. An off duty captain travelling as passenger was called to the flight deck to assist, the crew consulted with maintenance and considered to return to Minneapolis, however, in the end decided to divert to Sioux Falls. The aircraft landed safely on Sioux Falls's runway 33 about 35 minutes after leaving FL300.

A replacement A320-200 registration N344NW positioned to Sioux Falls, resumed the flight and reached Santa Ana with a delay of 7 hours.
