A Qantas Boeing 747-400, registration VH-OJE performing flight QF-64 from Johannesburg (South Africa) to Sydney,NS (Australia), was on approach to Sydney when the crew reported they received indication of a flat left body gear left aft tyre and requested emergency services on stand by as well as a runway inspection following their landing. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 34L. Tyre debris was found on and removed from the runway.

A post flight inspection revealed the tyre had separated, debris of which impacted the lower fuselage causing some damage to the skin.
