An Air France Airbus A340-300, registration F-GNII performing flight AF-10 from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to New York JFK,NY (USA) with 261 passengers, was enroute at FL340 about 5nm east of Blackpool,EN (UK) when the crew decided to turn around and return to Paris due to a problem with the windshield, the aircraft maintained FL340 on the way back. The aircraft landed safely back on Charles de Gaulle's runway 08L about one hour later.

The airline confirmed a minor technical incident involving a windshield heating issue, the flight is estimated to depart Paris again with a delay of 6 hours.

A replacement Airbus A340-300 registration F-GLZP reached New York with a delay of 6 hours.
