A Condor Boeing 767-300, registration D-ABUM performing flight DE-2282 from Mombasa (Kenya) to Zanzibar (Tanzania) with 230 passengers and 10 crew, was accelerating for takeoff from Mombasa when the left hand engine (CF6) ingested two crows prompting the crew to reject takeoff. The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.

The passengers were taken to hotels while waiting for a replacement aircraft.

The airline reported the left engine ingested birds, the crew rejected takeoff and brought the aircraft to a stop on the runway. The aircraft was ultimately bound for Frankfurt/Main (Germany) following the stop in Zanzibar. A replacement aircraft has been dispatched to Mombasa and is estimated to continue the flight the following day.
