A British Airways Boeing 777-200, registration G-VIIF performing flight BA-9174 from Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was enroute at FL410 about 120nm northeast of Moncton,NB (Canada) when the crew declared PAN PAN PAN reporting fumes on the flight deck and requested to divert to Boston,MA (USA). The aircraft landed safely in Boston about 75 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced various parts of the air conditioning system and returned the aircraft to service.

The occurrence aircraft positioned to London on Feb 18th and resumed service on Feb 21st 2017.
