A Lufthansa Airbus A320-200, registration D-AIQD performing flight LH-2085 from Hamburg to Munich (Germany) with 137 people on board, was on approach to Munich descending through FL130 when the crew advised they had some possible technical problem and requested a direct approach. A minute later the crew explained they had a lavatory smoke indication with no source being identifyable that repeated 4 times, no emergency services were needed, however, they wanted to be on the ground as quickly as possible. Emergency services assumed their stand by positions nonetheless. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 26R about 10 minutes after the onset of trouble.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 6:45 hours, then resumed service.
