An Enter Air Boeing 737-800, registration SP-ENP performing flight E4-7913 from Warsaw (Poland) to Larnaca (Cyprus) and Mombasa (Kenya), was in the climb out of Warsaw's runway 29 about 15 seconds after becoming airborne when the right hand engine (CFM56) ingested a bird, emitted a loud bang and lost power. The crew levelled off at FL100, decided to return to the Warsaw, entered a hold at 5000 feet to burn off fuel and landed safely back about 2:15 hours after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration SP-ENZ is estimated to reach Larnaca and Mombasa with a delay of 4.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft was still on the ground 12 hours after landing back.

On Feb 9th 2017 Poland's PKBWL reported the right hand engine ingested a bird while the aircraft climbed through 302 feet outside the airport perimeter. The aircraft entered a hold to burn off fuel and returned to Warsaw. After landing two fan blades were found damaged in addition to damage to the engine's acoustic panels.

The cause of the incident was determined to be: "the presence of a bird in the flight trajectory of the aircraft."
