A Lufthansa Cityline Canadair CRJ-900, registration D-ACNI performing flight LH-1894 from Munich (Germany) to Turin (Italy), was climbing out of Munich when the crew donned their oxygen masks reporting a fire indication on board and stopped the climb at 5000 feet. While positioning for the approach back to Munich the crew reported that the fire indication had ceased and they would be able to vacate the runway. The aircraft landed safely back and vacated the runway via a high speed turnoff.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 12 hours before resuming service.
