An AerCaribe Boeing 737-400 freighter, registration HK-5139 performing a freight flight from Leticia to Bogota (Colombia), landed on Bogota's runway 13R at about 00:20L (05:20Z) but suffered structural damage to both main gear struts causing all main gear wheels rotate out of movement direction, the right hand wheels also damaged the runway surface and the right hand tyres burst.

The southern runway 13R/31L was closed as result of the accident, the northern runway was opened about 5:40 hours after the occurrence.

On Apr 15th 2017 Colombia's Aerocivil released their preliminary report reporting that the final approach to and touch down on Bogota's runway 13R was normal. After touchdown increasing strong vibrations occurred. At low speed the aircraft spun counterclockwise around by about 170 degrees and came to a stop. Emergency services responded to prevent any possible outbreak of fire.

Aerocivil reported the aircraft came to a stop 3161 meters past the threshold of runway 13R at a final heading of about 330 degrees. Tracks of both main gear struts zigzagging were visible for 2681 meters. The right main wheels were found misaligned about 43 degrees to the right, both right main wheels were found worn and tyres burst. The left main wheels were found misaligned about 55 degrees to the right, the left main tyres were worn and damaged.

No foreign objects were found on the runway that could have contributed to the occurrence. No system malfunction, leakage or damage was evident that could have contributed to the misalignment of the wheels.
