A Gol Linhas Aereas Boeing 737-700, registration PR-GIN performing flight G3-5472 from Belo Horizonte,MG to Sao Paulo Congonhas,SP (Brazil) with 125 people on board, was climbing out of Belo Horizonte when the crew stopped the climb at FL190 due to problems with the slats. The aircraft later climbed to FL200 and continued to Sao Paulo, but diverted to Sao Paulo's Guarulhos Airport due to the longer runways available. The aircraft landed safely at Guarulhos Airport about 80 minutes after departure.

The passengers were bussed to Congonhas Airport.

The occurrence aircraft resumed service after 4.5 hours on the ground.
