Westjet B737 near Los Angeles on Oct 5th 2016, fuel pressure problems

A Westjet Boeing 737-700, registration C-GUWS performing flight WS-1701 from Los Angeles,CA (USA) to Vancouver,BC (Canada) with 46 people on board, was enroute at FL360 about 140nm north of Los Angeles when the crew received a low fuel pressure indication and decided to return to Los Angeles for a safe landing about one hour after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported the aircraft had been dispatched under minimum equipment list requirements with the center tank fuel boost pump #1 inoperative. When the crew selected the #2 center tank fuel boost pump, a low fuel pressure indication occurred. The crew consultd with maintenance and operations and decided to return to Los Angeles. Maintenance personnel deferred the #2 center tank fuel boost pump as well and released the aircraft under minimum equipment list requirements.

The occurrence aircraft departed again and reached Vancouver with a delay of 5 hours.
