A Peach Aviation Airbus A320-200, registration JA802P performing flight MM-504 from Okinawa to Tokyo Narita (Japan) with 118 people on board, was climbing out of Okinawa's runway 36 when the crew stopped the climb at about 5500 feet due to a hydraulic failure affecting the landing gear and descended the aircraft back to 2000 feet. The aircraft entered a hold while the crew worked the checklists, the crew subsequently performed a low approach to runway 36 about 35 minutes after departure to have the landing gear checked from the ground. The aircraft entered another hold at 2000 feet and landed safely on runway 36 about one hour after departure. The aircraft needed to be towed off the runway.

The runway was closed for about 30 minutes as result.
