A Tailwind Boeing 737-800, registration TC-TLH performing flight TI-9227 from Antalya (Turkey) to Friedrichshafen (Germany) with 183 people on board, was on approach to Friedrichshafen when the crew aborted the approach at about 3000 feet reporting flaps problems and decided to divert to Zurich (Switzerland) for the longer runways available. The crew requested and was assigned runway 16. On final approach the crew reported they were able to extend the flaps to 10 degrees, landing speed would be 169 KIAS. The aircraft landed safely on Zurich's runway 16 at a higher than normal speed (about 180 knots over ground) about 35 minutes after aborting the approach to Friedrichshafen.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 3 hours, then departed Zurich again and reached Friedrichshafen about 4 hours after aborting the first approach to Friedrichshafen.
