A Jet2.com Boeing 757-200, registration G-LSAG performing flight LS-875 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Faro (Portugal), was climbing out of Manchester's runway 23L when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet and entered a hold due to being unable to retract the landing gear. The aircraft burned off fuel and landed safely back about one hour after departure.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration G-LSAJ reached Faro with a delay of 2.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground 6 hours after landing.

The airline reported the aircraft returned to Manchester as a precautionary measure.
