An Expressjet Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N398CA performing flight EV-5419/DL-5419 from Norfolk,VA to Detroit,MI (USA) with 62 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Norfolk when the right hand engine (CF34) failed prompting the crew to shut the engine down and return to Norfolk for a safe landing about 15 minutes after departure.
