A Gojet Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N656CA performing flight DL-6185 from Raleigh/Durham,NC to New York La Guardia,NY (USA) with 60 passengers and 4 crew, was climbing through FL290 out of Raleigh/Durham about 10nm south of Richmond,VA (USA) when the crew detected a problem with the right hand engine (CF34), shut the engine down and diverted to Richmond for a safe landing about 25 minutes later.

A replacement CRJ-700 registration N655CA reached New York with a delay of 9 hours.
