An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N930NN performing flight AA-2293 (dep May 6th) from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to Washington National,DC (USA), was descending towards Washington's Ronald Reagan Airport when the crew stopped the descent at about 2500 feet MSL reporting problems with the flaps and climbed to 3000 feet MSL. The crew requested to divert to Washington's Dulles International Airport and received vectors to Dulles. The crew aborted the first approach to Dulles and landed safely on Dulles' runway 01C at a higher than normal speed about 25 minutes after aborting the approach to National Airport.
