A United Boeing 737-700, registration N29717 performing flight UA-38 from Newark,NJ to Omaha,NE (USA) with 114 passengers and 5 crew, was enroute at FL380 about 10nm southeast of Cleveland,OH (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Cleveland advising of an engine (CFM56) problem. The aircraft landed safely in Cleveland about 20 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 737-900 registration N27477 reached Omaha with a delay of 3.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Cleveland about 22 hours after landing.
