An Egypt Air Embraer ERJ-170 on behalf of Air Sinai, registration SU-GCT performing flight 4D-54 from Cairo (Egypt) to Tel Aviv (Israel), was enroute about to enter Israeli Airspace when the crew did not identify according to standard procedures before entering Israeli Airspace prompting Israeli Authorities to dispatch two F15 fighter aircraft to intercept the Embraer. The aircraft eventually reported on frequency and continued the flight to a safe landing at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport.

Following checks the aircraft was released by Israel's Authorities and was able to perform the return flight 4D-55 on schedule.

Israeli sources report the crew encountered a radio failure just prior to entering Israeli Airspace.
