An Egyptair Airbus A330-200, registration SU-GCF performing flight MS-915 from Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) to Cairo (Egypt) with 184 people on board, was enroute at FL380 about 100nm northeast of Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt) when the crew received indications prompting suspicions of a fuel leak at the right hand engine (Trent 772). The crew shut the engine down and diverted to Sharm el Sheikh for a safe landing about 30 minutes later.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 15 hours, then positioned to Cairo and resumed service.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
