A Wideroe de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration LN-WDJ performing flight WF-276 from Kristiansand (Norway) to Copenhagen (Denmark) with 43 passengers, was climbing out of Kristiansand about 10nm east of Kristiansand when the crew stopped the climb at FL200 due to problems with the AC generators also affecting the aircraft's anti-ice systems. The crew decided to divert to Sandefjord, located 90nm northeast of their position, where no icing conditions were predicted. The aircraft landed safely in Sandefjord about 25 minutes later.

A replacement Dash 8-400 registration LN-WDK reached Copenhagen with a delay of 2:50 hours.

The airline confirmed that the aircraft experienced problems with the AC generators, the crew decided to divert to Sandefjord's Torp Airport due to temperature conditions rated less problematic with respect to icing conditions. The aircraft could not have continued to Copenhagen due to icing conditions.

Passengers reported the captain made an announcement after landing indicating that due to the power problems the conditions had become very challenging, including maintaining view out of the cockpit. The passengers reported with smiles that the captain indicated he had to take his T-Shirt off to wipe dry the windshield and said "thus the first officer had the quirky pleasure to fly with a half naked skipper the last 20 minutes into Torp."
