A Porter Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GLQQ performing flight PD-384 from Chicago Midway,IL (USA) to Toronto City,ON (Canada) with 27 people on board, was climbing out of Chicago Midway when the crew noticed the #2 hydraulic system quantity was decreasing. Approaching Windsor,ON (Canada) the quantity had decreased to 35%, the crew carried out the loss of hydraulic fluid #2 checklist and decided to divert to Toronto's International Airport. The crew selected flaps at 35 degrees and landing gear down early, declared emergency and landed safely on runway 23. Emergency services confirmed a hydraulic leak from the nose wheel steering, the crew turned nose wheel steering off and the leak stopped.

On Feb 10th 2016 the Canadian TSB reported that maintenance replaced a flexible hydraulic line in the nose wheel steering, that had ruptured. Several gear swings went without further anomaly.
