A KLM Boeing 737-800, registration PH-BXY performing flight KL-1576 from Athens (Greece) to Amsterdam,NL (Netherlands), was on final approach to Amsterdam's runway 18C when the crew went around from about 1500 feet MSL reporting a technical problem. The crew advised shortly afterwards that they had solved their problem and requested a short line up for another approach to runway 18C, ATC offered an ILS approach to runway 22 which was accepted by the crew advising no assistance was needed. The aircraft was on final approach to runway 22 about 11 minutes after the first go-around when the crew reported they needed to go around again. The crew advised the go arounds were due to flaps problems. The aircraft positioned for another approach to runway 18C and landed safely on runway 18C at a higher than normal speed, about 170 KIAS (145 knots over ground), about 20 minutes after the second go-around.
