An Air Canada Boeing 777-300, registration C-FNNH performing flight AC-16 from Hong Kong (China) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 287 people on board, was enroute at FL350 about 55nm northeast of Anchorage,AK (USA) when the aircraft encountered moderate turbulence over the next 20 minutes with two brief periods of turbulence intensifying to severe. During one of the severe turbulence periods a flight attendant received an injury in the crew rest area. The aircraft continued to Toronto for a safe landing.

On Jan 19th 2016 the Canadian TSB reported that the crew had illuminated the fasten seat belt signs about 15 minutes prior to the first onset of turbulence, the turbulence area had been forecast in a SIGMET and was anticipated by the crew. The flight attendant received a minor injury. The crew filed a pilot report with ATC and consulted with dispatch reporting the occurrence.
