A Delta Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N370NB performing flight DL-2611 from New Orleans,LA to New York JFK,NY (USA) with 127 people on board, was on final approach to JFK's runway 22L when the crew went around from about 500 feet AGL reporting a hydraulic issue. The crew subsequently declared emergency reporting an issue with the landing gear as result of the hydraulic issue and requested the longer runway 22R. After winds were reported from 090 degrees at 10 knots the crew requested runway 13R due to performance. On contacting tower again the crew advised they would be stopping on the runway, the controller replied "That's fine Ma'am, we got a big runway to stop in". The aircraft landed safely on runway 13R about 40 minutes after going around and stopped on the runway stating they were unable to vacate the runway, they had no brakes and needed to be towed in. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 17 hours before resuming service.
