The airline reported however, that after landing damage to the right wing tip consistent with a lightning strike was discovered. Crew and passengers remained unaware of the occurrence.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Khabarovsk for 25 hours before resuming service.
On Jul 27th 2016 Russia's Rosaviatsia reported that after landing mechanics and ground staff found signs of a lightning strike at the right wing tip, further examination revealed damage to the structural elements of the right hand wing tip. The cause of the occurrence had been the discharge of atmospheric electricity into the right hand wing tip fence due to unintentional flight through atmospheric electrical activity.
