A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300, registration N670SW performing flight WN-4139 from Sacramento,CA to Portland,OR (USA), was in the initial climb out of Sacramento's runway 34L when the crew stopped the climb at about 5700 feet reporting a bird strike and returned to Sacramento for a safe landing on runway 34L about 10 minutes after departure.

The FAA reported the aircraft received damage to the left hand elevator as result of the bird strike.

A replacement Boeing 737-700 registration N212WN reached Portland with a delay of 2:20 hours.
