A Saudi Arabian Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration TC-OCD performing flight SV-3739 from Lahore (Pakistan) to Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), was in the initial climb out of Lahore's runway 36R when the crew declared PAN reporting they had lost an engine (PW4168) and requested an immediate return to Lahore. The aircraft landed safely on runway 36R about 15 minutes after departure.

Local media suggest the engine problem may have been the result of a bird strike.

A replacement Wamos Boeing 747-400 registration EC-MDS was dispatched to Lahore and reached Riyadh the following morning with a delay of 12 hours.

The occurrence aircraft, leased in from Onur Air, is still on the ground (standing Jan 14th 2016), a replacement engine has arrived, the engine change is currently in progress.
