A Lufthansa Airbus A321-200, registration D-AIDA performing flight LH-681 from Tel Aviv (Israel) to Munich (Germany), was enroute at FL340 about 90nm northeast of Athens (Greece) when the crew decided to divert to Athens reporting an electrical odour on board. The aircraft landed safely on Athens' runway 03L about 30 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 10 hours, then continued the flight and reached Munich with a delay of 10 hours.

The airline reported there was an unusual light electrical odour on board prompting the diversion. The aircraft was examined.
