A Korean Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration HL7766 performing flight KE-2728 from Osaka Kansai (Japan) to Seoul Gimpo (South Korea) with 216 people on board, was climbing out of Kansai's runway 06R when the crew stopped the climb at FL120 reporting a problem with the right hand engine (PW4090) and returned to Kansai for a safe landing on runway 06L about 25 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 777-300 registration HL7532 reached Seoul with a delay of 3.5 hours.
