A Flybe de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration G-JEDM performing flight BE-7109 from Birmingham,EN (UK) to Hamburg (Germany), was climbing out of Birmingham when the crew stopped the climb at FL140 reporting a problem with the landing gear. The aircraft entered a hold at FL080 while the crew prepared the aircraft for the return and landed safely back in Birmingham about 55 minutes after departure.

A replacement Dash 8-400 registration G-JEDU reached Hamburg with a delay of 2:40 hours.
